Martin Burch
FOUNDER & Director
Marco is the director and founder of BURCH TOMRLIN & ASSOCIATES LLP, established in Vaughan in 2009. With over 25 years of experience, he is a highly respected legal practitioner specialising exclusively in Wills and Estate Planning, Deceased Estate Administration, and Will and Estate Disputes.
Admitted to practice in Vaughan, the High Court, and the Federal Court of Canada, Marco brings a wealth of expertise, strategic insight, and a compassionate approach to his clients. he holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Politics, from The University of Waterloo.
Recognised for his integrity, empathy, and kindness, Marco is particularly skilled in mediating estate disputes, offering clients honest assessments and guiding them toward optimal resolutions. he has built strong relationships with other legal and financial professionals across Vaughan, including lawyers, accountants, and financial planners who trust his expertise with their clients’ estate matters.
Outside of work, Marco enjoys spending quality time with his three children and embracing Vaughan lifestyle, particularly its beautiful beaches.
Jason Tomerlin

Jason earned both his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo and was called to the bar in October 2012. Since then, he has built extensive expertise in estate planning, consistently applying a thoughtful, client-centered approach to his practice.
Driven by a strong work ethic and genuine passion for the law, Jason is dedicated to guiding clients through their legal matters with clarity and confidence. He prides himself on forging robust relationships, ensuring every client feels supported and truly understood throughout the process.
Beyond the office, Jason cherishes quality time with his family, friends, and his dogs. An avid traveler and foodie, he’s always on the lookout for his next adventure or favourite new book, and he unwinds with good music whenever he can.
Angel Hemmingway
Personal Assistant
Angel brings over 30 years of administrative and secretarial expertise in wills and estates, having supported lawyers in law firms across New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Vaughan.
Nina Mackie
Legal Assistant
Nina is a second-year Law and Criminology student at University of Waterloo and an active volunteer in the Waterloo Law Students’ Association. She assists with will and estate administration, gaining practical experience in this area of law. With a passion for learning, Nina is dedicated to expanding her legal knowledge and providing dependable legal assistance.
